Intellectual Property support services are now available in the AlentEdge Office

Intellectual Property (IP) services, an initiative of PACT in partnership with the specialized consultancy INVENTA, offer comprehensive support in the exploitation of intellectual property rights at competitive prices throughout the Alentejo region. Inserted in the AlentEdge Office, they aim to promote a culture of innovation and boost regional development and knowledge valorization.
IP registration ensures the monopoly or exclusive use of the invention and confers the right to prevent others from producing and marketing the patented invention, which can generate financial returns.
A study by the European Union and the European Patent Office shows that companies with intellectual property rights have better economic performance, especially SMEs. In Alentejo, although there is an increase in investments in research and development, the region still faces challenges in indicators such as scientific publications and investment in R&D. However, there is a remarkable growth in innovation levels, especially in medium-sized companies.
The costs vary depending on the content of the invention to be protected, the scope of protection (national, European or international), among other factors, such as IP registration fees, maintenance fees and fees of official industrial property agents.
Through the AlentEdge Office, a 15% discount is applied on INVENTA’s fee schedule.
