PACT joins ESA’s BIC Portugal Network
13 June 2020
The Business Incubation Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA BIC) in Portugal, led by the Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN), will extend its programme to the entire national territory, including the Azores and Madeira, and form a network of 15 incubators.
PACT is proud to be part of these 15 incubators that will leverage business projects based on technologies and data from the space industry and expand the Portuguese space ecosystem.
ESA BIC Portugal aims to support startups that use data from space or other space technology to create new products and services in the terrestrial sector, in areas such as health, energy, transport, security and urban life, but also companies that intend to enter the commercial space market.
The program plans to support up to 12 national companies per year, which each have a financial incentive of 50 thousand euros and access to technical and business support. A tender for financing the first startups is scheduled to open this June.
